MAZDA3 HEV

At the heart of the New Mazda3 Sedan and Fastback HEV is Mazda Hybrid technology. Not only does its 5.1 kW (6.9 PS) integrated electric motor propel the vehicle independently from its internal combustion engine, but it also enables the Mazda3 to be moved solely on electric power by harnessing every pinch of surplus energy that is captured and stored as electric energy by the system.

MAZDA CX-30 HEV

A crossover with the flowing beauty of a coupe and the bold toughness of an SUV, the Mazda CX-30 HEV maximizes every bit of energy normally wasted during braking. Instead of being unused, it is stored as electric energy in the battery, which its integrated electric motor uses to move the vehicle, even without the internal combustion engine.   • What is Mazda Hybrid Technology?

    It is an innovative evolution of hybrid car technology that uses an integrated electric motor which harnesses captured energy that is normally wasted during braking to propel the vehicle forward.

    Instead of allowing energy to go to waste, kinetic energy is captured and converted into electric energy, which is stored in the vehicle's Lithium-ion battery. The integrated electric motor uses this electric energy to propel the vehicle independently from the internal combustion engine, reducing the engine's load, and improving fuel efficiency while reducing carbon dioxide emissions.

  • How does the Mazda Hybrid Technology work?

    When coasting or decelerating, the Mazda Hybrid system harnesses surplus kinetic energy through regenerative braking and converts it to electric energy, which is stored in the vehicle's onboard Lithium-ion battery.

    This electric energy is used to move the vehicle forward, either in tandem with the internal combustion engine or on pure electric power when the battery has sufficient charge, provide extra propulsion when pulling away from a standstill, and power the car’s electrical systems like air-conditioning, lighting, infotainment, and many more.

    No. The battery charges while you’re driving. It never takes power away from the engine.
